Nick Franklin-Jones - Program Director For the last 5 years Nick has shined in his role as Program Director. Nick’s experience speaks for itself, 23 years of skiing and 15 years of professional Instructing/Coaching. He holds certificates from APSI, ISIA, SSA, Freestyle Level 1 and the Canadian Avalanche Association. He is currently the K2 Australian ski representative and Team Manager and spends his weekends as Head Freeride coach for Mt Buller’s successful TBR program. His dedication and experience to providing high quality programs will guarantee that every moment is a memorable one.
Andrew Filer - Head Ski Coach We are very happy to have one of the best ski coaches around on our team. With 21 season's of coaching under his belt, 10 of which were in Japan, Andy has the skills to make sure you get the most out of your Japan Powder Tour no matter what your ability. Andy is a qualified APSI instructor, speaks Japanese, has a passion for skiing and is actively involved in the industry.
Levi Ratapu - Head Snowboard Coach Levi has been snowboarding for around 10 years and instructing for 7 seasons. He's been working his way up the ranks within the ski industry and is now a fully certified Snowboard Instructor and qualified Freestyle Coach. His main passion is to travel the globe and snowboard at different ski resorts world wide, while continuing to develop his own riding and increase his ever growing bag of tricks. He has traveled to Canada, Japan, USA and Argentina riding and instructing. He has spent numerous years working internationally gaining valuable insight into the ski industry. Snowboarding is one of his greatest passions and he thrives on sharing his knowledge and experiences with others.
Our programs are operated on a relaxed and flexible learning style. There are no rigid programs and set daily schedules, instead our coaches and guides adapt each program to suit the needs and desires of each group. If charging the steeps and heading out to the backcountry is your idea of a dream trip - then no need to worry! Our coaches are there to help make that a reality. On the other hand, if you want to focus more on improving your general skills whilst getting the hang of riding/skiing powder with the occasional pointer - then that is fine too. Our staff have been specially chosen for their ability to teach skiers and riders of all levels, so no matter what your ability, you will soon be skiing/riding the deep powder like a pro - make sure you bring your camera!
